Halloween Happenings

Before we get too deep into Christmas, we are still eating Halloween candy around here afterall, I’ve been wanting to share our Halloween.

I share this stuff for me. I actually was at the zoo in early fall thinking about what the kids were going to be and what hand-me-down costumes would fit which kid. I could not for the life of me remember what Eleanor was last year. I couldn’t remember, my SIL couldn’t remember, I called Ross at work and he couldn’t remember so we looked it up on the blog. She was a monkey.

Needless to say, I have found that I feel really disappointed in myself when I look back and find that I failed to document something.

We had baby #4, Fiona, on October 20 so Halloween came up on us quickly. Hudson has been so excited to go trick-or-treating. He has been talking about it for a long time. We watched plenty of Halloween movies/episodes on Netflix, etc. My favorite is when he puts his hands by his face and wiggles his little fingers and says, “spooky” when talking about Halloween.

With the little guy so excited to go trick-or-treating, I knew that even though I was only going to be 11 days out from a csection I couldn’t miss it!

He was suppose to wear a hand-me down Halloween costume, because I’m not about spending money. He was so dead-set on being a firefighter. The Melissa & Doug fire chief costume was 40% off at Barnes & Noble so we went for it. His Halloween costume quickly became everyday wear and it was so stinking cute.

Of course, in typical Wisconsin fashion Halloween was ridiculously rainy and cold. Quinn and Eleanor had their last soccer games of the season and it poured through them all. The rain finally let up a bit by the time we were trick or treating.

Trick-or-treating in Wisconsin means snow suits. Quinn has an entire snow suit under his costume! The snow pants and boots were the perfect addition to Hudson’s costume.

We even dressed up Fiona. I made it a block trick-or-treating before I was tired out. The kiddos obviously were not content with one block, so they kept going with dad.

The kids really enjoyed their holiday. We still have candy. I feel like I end up throwing some out every year. I cannot believe that is another Halloween down in the books or that I have four kids!!
